'cause the Mountain Dew is definitely superior to its HFCS counterpart. The stores around here are definitely stocking them more than regular Mtn. Dew. I wonder if Pepsi is going to take them away? I don't drink much soda, but I really like the taste of this.

I had the throwback Pepsi, and its ok. Still haven't had the Dr. Pepper. Heard its great as well.

I drank a Pepsi but couldn't tell the difference. I'm not a big cola guy though.

I drank some Mexican Coke made with cane sugar recently.
While it didn't taste different, it definitely had a lighter, crisper mouth-feel,
i.e., not that syrupy coating of your mouth one gets normally while drinking Coca-Cola.

//insert Dalen gay joke below. kthx.

There's a place in Texas that still makes Dr. Pepper with sugar that is apparently fantastic as well. Anyone had the Dr. Pepper Throwback and the Texas Pepper and want to compare/contrast?

It's in Dublin(central Texas),and it's a pretty cool place. And it does taste pretty damn good.
I haven't had the Throwback yet-I'll have to check it out.

I didn't know they were making throwback DP. I will have to seek some out. I still haven't been to Dublin - maybe next time I go to Dallas.

I like the Pepsi Throwbacks, but I though those already came and went.

I was actually considering ordering some of those Texas Dr. Pepper's until I saw how much they cost. And I realized that I was actually considering ordering soda over the internet.

I'll only drink a Coke if it comes from McD's, 'cause as we all know they got the best Cokes in the world.

I think the Throwback drinks are great - both Pepsi and Mt. Dew taste better than the regular version. Does anyone know why they are a limited time, though? My guess is HFCS is the cheaper ingredient but it seems like they are selling well.

Yeah, I think HFCS is generally cheaper than sugar.

But, I believe this has a lot to do with corn subsidies vs. sugar tariffs. Blame the government.

Throwback Mountain Dew is good, but very few places around here sell it, except the big grocery store chains and they only have a small supply.

On Highway 66 just east of Oklahoma City, this place is pretty epic. They have over 500 different flavors of pop.
Including my childhood favorite,Kickapoo Joy Juice.

I think I've mentioned it elsewhere, but watch this:

[imghttp://www.norcalblogs.com/sustainable/king-corn.jpg[img]

Sugar is definitely more expensive. Buuuuut, the flipside is--are more people drinking the soda because it a)tastes better and b)is perceived to be better for you.

The sugar ones actually have a few more calories per drink, I think.

The taste is nearly the same, but I like the feel of the sugar ones more. Like someone else said, it doesn't feel so much like its coating your mouth, and it has just a little bit more bite to it.
