Yes. Yes they are.

I've not kept up with current Ballboy developments because two albums was enough.

Nothing special really unless you think Aberfeldy are essential in the popular music canon (Aberfeldy are better than Ballboy).

They just about justified their existence with the 'I Hate Scotland' single but other than that....

Thanks I just dld A Guide for Daylight and Royal Theatre. Sounds interesting if a little samey, but humorous in that smart Scotsman's way. Good for a pint and a listen every now and then.

Actually on closer listen, I get the feeling this is what the Lucksmiths were scared to do on First Frost. There is definitely some shimmery bangs over folk melodies here, via Something's Going to Happen Soon. I'll be digging this band more I listen.

I have Guide for the Daylight Hours and this sums it up pretty well. Don't care about hearing anything else but this album is ok for an occasional listen

agreed. dig it when it comes up on shuffle, but never reach for an album - and i think i have all (three?) there's a great cover of "born in the usa" on one of 'em....
