1. mayyors - clicks : reminds me of JSBX or SCOTS, but a bit more sonically wilder. good for losing your shit to. 6/10
2. lullabye arkestra - we fuck the night : i can already tell that the mix i made for shiv was too tame. sounds like amped up riot grrl with groove rock influences. shov if you like this you'd love the screaming females. 5/10
3. digital leather - not now : good fuzz rock with a synth foundation that kinda sounds 80s and kinda doesn't. yeah, how about those reviews writing skills at work. i like this though. 6/10
4. the octagon - radio days : eh. kinda bland new school post rock/punk here. 4/10
5. ps i love you - facelove : digging the music here, not so much the vocals. where have all the good vocalists gone? 5/10
6. we are wolves - paloma : same feeling as the previous song, this is slightly better though. are they japanese? 6/10
7. pretty & nice - piranha : like the vox here, but the music is too angular/post punk/meh. would like to hear more from these guys because i'm hear cool parts in this. 6/10
8. harlem - friendly ghost : i already knew this band i think (one of a very few on this mix). i'm digging this, except for the wimpy noodle that was in the bridge-part. should probably check out more of this. 7/10
9. vincent vincent & the villains - blue boy : i like this. reminds me of someone i can't put my finger on. would've maybe done well on my oldiescore mix. a good croon, and a swinging/rockabilly guitar. file this one away as a keeper. 8/10
10. sally seltmann - harmony to my heartbeat : nice girly pop. yay! 8/10
11. owen pallett - lewis takes action : i think i saw this album in the 2010 thread. will have to check it out maybe. neat pop with some orchestra. maybe would be good if they didn't stretch themselves too thin here. 6/10
dear lord, 25 songs? i'm taking a break.
12. wild beasts - two dancers : not as lively as the band and song title would have me believe. some british crooner-ish stuff? not my bag. 4/10
13. titus andronicus - to old friends and new : this is one of those bands that i've heard of before this mix, but this is not what i remember them sounding like. I thought they were a punk band. this isn't bad though. 5/10
14. thao with the get down stay down - the give : some indie acoustic-lite. i like stuff like this, sometimes. on a cold, boring winter day perhaps. don't like these vox though. 5/10
15. a.a. bondy - i can see the pines are dancing : already knew this track, already knew i find it kinda boring. i'm lame. i'd rather listen to andrew bird. 4/10.
16. phantogram - mouthful of diamonds : the second the electro-chirping got annoying it went away. i know it's coming back though. and i dread it. yeah there it is. i like this song though! will have to check out more of this. 7/10
17. bear in heaven - you do you: mid tempo modern electro pop. sounds like the city. some flourishes 3/4ths of the way through, but nah. 3/10
18. crash course in science - flying turns : more of the same, but a bit more minimalist. 2/10
19. cold cave - the trees grew emotions and died : a bit more poppy and groovy. will probably look into this more. 6/10
20. rainbow arabia - i know i see i love i go : nice little world/dance pop fusion. i like the stuff like this that really gets booming. this seems to have only a little bit of the best of both worlds. 5/10
21. junk culture - west coast : not sure what to make of this. a bit repetitive, but when it changes gears, it really throws ya for a loop. 5/10
22. the yah mos def - yahmosdefnessss : this is a little more edgy, faster-paced, and not all drawn out. i dig it. 7/10
23. willie isz - georgiavania : aw yeah. simple, boppin' beats, one-finger piano loop, ridiculous chorus, and super-fast rappin. this white boi is down. 6/10
24. freddie gibbs - womb 2 the tomb (ft. pill) : kinda generic. i wish rapper's wrote better choruses. 4/10
25. gucci mane - stupid wild : i'm sure girl talk will find something here to turn into a hook or something. 3/10
overall thoughts - nice job finding stuff i haven't heard yet. as far as stuff i enjoyed and/or will check out in the future i'd say you batted about .480, which is respectable indeed.
