Hadn't made a trip to the record show to dig through vinyl for a while, but made it out this morning. About $35 scored me the following...

The Jam: All Mod Cons
The Jam: Sound Effects
The Jam: The Gift
Squeeze: Argybargy
The Smithereens: Especially For You
Donnie Iris: Back On The Streets
Mark Andrews & The Gents: Big Boy
Phil Alvin: Un"Sung Stories"

All in all not a bad pick up for a morning...and now I'm gonna go start listening.

I meant to go today but I just came down with a head cold. Is it mostly vinyl at these shows?

It is a mix of vinyl, CDs, concert DVDs, some posters and t-shirts, books, etc... Vinyl makes up the biggest chuck, probably 70% or more overall. but, there are other things as well.

I always say it is a horrible place to go and want to find something specific, but a good place to go if you don't mind spending the time to dig through stacks at the cheaper booths and just grab whatever good stuff comes across. You can usually get good deals that way. i think the next one isn't until May.

Speaking of vinyl... what's that vinyl shop next to blueberry hill?

I'll be in STL next weekend, although with 70 high schoolers. Singing at the Basilica.

What I really want to do though is visit Scotty's music, whenever they're open and I can get away from the kids. Either of you mugs wanna rescue me for a couple of hours?

I've got a hankering to check out some more pedal steels, and Scotty's is the MECCA.

Yeah, that's Vintage Vinyl. Euclid records is another really great records store. If you're into jazz, quite a bit better even. It's a few miles away.

Scotty's is quite a ways away from anything that sounds like is on your itinerary and there's not much else around it.

Good luck escaping from the kids.

I'd rescue you for beer...but for looking at a bunch of guitars I can't play...not so much.
