Where should I start? Or should I bother at all?

Just listened to that recent Method Actors comp, and it seems pretty good. Between that and Pylon, I guess I've had '80s Athens, GA bands on my mind, and I'm reminded of one I've seen mentioned a lot but have never really listened to - Love Tractor.

Any thoughts?

Didn't hate, just never cared for them. Unfocused, amateur, not even as good as Pylon, which isn't saying much. You'll like them.

Widespread wrote a song called "Love Tractor" as an homage to them and their style. Lyrically, it's a love song written to a tractor.

Their output was pretty inconsistent. I like this EP, which has a pretty cool cover of Kraftwerk's "Neon Lights":

That's some of the earlier, mostly instrumental stuff, right? I noticed there's a comp with that + the s/t album. I may end up just starting there.

I was kinda specifically wondering - and I probably should have stated this in the original post - if either of their late-'80s albums was worthwhile, This Ain't No Outer Space Ship or Themes from Venus, and if so, which would be better to start with.

I own This Ain't No Outer Space Ship and really enjoy it. I own it on CD but I think I have a couple of songs off it on my computer. I'll upload what I have for you.
