So, I'm taking my wife tonight to see Wilco...

Anyone see them on the current tour?
Curious to know how long they play? Do they have an opener, and if there has been a set time when they are going on?

We got a two month old that we will be leaving with grandma...The venue is less than 10 minutes away, but we need to basically get there as close to lights going down, and leaving as soon as the last guitar chord is struck...

I'll call the venue later, but they never tell you the real times....they want you in there early to drink...

My colleague caught them in Miami and said they were stellar. Played for 2 hrs 30 mins, no opener.

There's chatter on the last few pages of this thread - viewtopic.php?f=1&t=13453

Saw them last Friday at the Fox in Atlanta. Whatever your ticket says the showtime is, believe it. Fox said 8:00pm and Wilco went on right at 8:20pm. It's a nearly 3 hour "An Evening With" with a 30 minute "acoustic/living room" set that was pretty good. Overall it covers mostly 21st Century material with a few tunes from the 90s albums to keep those fans happy. Personally, I've seen better shows by them, but they didn't disappoint. Always solid, with great musicianship and songs.

All my tickets say are 'Doors - 7pm'

I guess we'll shoot to get there round 7:45 or so.

Dov - Wellmont Theatre says 7:00pm doors / 8:00pm show. Wilco will be on by 8:15pm if they're staying consistent.

Saw them at the beginning of February. Tickets said 8:00pm I think. We got there at about 8:20pm and Califone was the opener. They played about 2 more songs after we got there and then there was a 15 min break before wilco hit the stage. They played for a good long while. I'd say for at least 2 hours, but I can't really remember.

yeah, most of these nice theatre type venues have a strict curfew/noise rule...everything must be on time and unless your seats are up close, its not gonna be loud enough.

i had seats up pretty high at the Tower and the sound was perfect, but that place has pretty incredible sound, which would explain why people film movies and albums there.

They went on at 8 (on the dot) and played till 11:15.
I wanted to shoot myself in the face by 10:45.
I don't dislike Wilco, but I do not want to watch any band for more than 2 hours or so.....Im getting old.

i don't think not wanting to watch a band you aren't a huge fan of for 2+ hours is a sign of getting old.
