should there not?

we do mix trades and other such things here and there all over the place. would a separate forum be cool?

thoughts welcome. unless they suck

Not a bad idea. I was just thinking today about shucking off some crap I have no interest in at this point in time.

I'm one of those oddballs that doesn't get involved in mixes and such. I've barely got enough time to listen to the music I already have, newly purchased.

I do, however, often tire of a CD and will usually sell it on Amazon, but a trade would be much preferable so I say...

Trading forums are always a good idea on message boards, but no one ever has used them on any board I've ever been on.

a seperate forum for it would probably be pretty cool. I started a thread on the old CMJ board that saw quite a few trades, but after a while threads just sorta fall. something more permanent might be nice...

Here's an idea:

We could do a sticky thread where each person posts once and edits their post whenever the info changes, like the 2005 purchases thread. Each post would have two sections: music they want to trade, and requests. You could browse through other people's stuff and if there's something they have that you want or there's something they want that you want to get rid of, you can pm/email the person.

Finally, a voice of reason.

sticky thread annoy me. as do ongoing threads that are updated by tons of individuals. but, to each his own. all i know is that i am in need of some funds, and my cd shelves are bursting wide open.

Whatever we do, I think we should give a portion of the proceeds to the folks running this board. Aren't they pretty much doing this for free?

Aren't there any used CD stores where you live?
