She recently commented in an interview on another artist that I know epa likes-Fiona Apple. She said Fiona "does what I do, only better."

It's good. It's not what I was expecting, having heard a few bootlegs. This isn't as loose a setting as she usually seems to play in, perhaps because it's on film she's nervous and doesn't banter with the crowd so much, or they just lopped all that stuff out (which is unfortunate.) But the performances are excellent and the recording quality is also equally good. The only annoying truly thing I can find about it is that the DVD has a couple songs not on the CD, and the CD has a song not on the DVD, but I'm pretty sure all those tracks together would be under 80 minutes long, so why not include everything in the audio portion?

I'd assume it will be out real soon. He announced a little mini pre-release tour recently. I assume it leaked sometime last year because I know I saw it on some best of 2004 lists somewhere last year.

He also has an unreleased live album of performances with his wife that have been in the bucket for a few years. Don't know what's holding up that release.

Both Aimee and Fiona are great in their own right, but Jon Brion really does bring out the best in them, I think.
