Wow. I have to admit that, even as a lifelong resident of Illinois I have NEVER been an Illini fan. However, I was rooting for these guys this year. Especially since my Missouri Tigers are waaaaaaayyy out of the race for an NCAA bid. Plus, Dee Brown seems like a good kid and this seemed like a special team.

They very well could. Big Ten is underrated as a conference in most sports because everyone beats the shits out of everyone else. Makes for a difficult postseason.

Illinois ALWAYS has trouble in Columbus... and, above all other games this year, this one worried me the most.

I maintain that this loss is a good thing as any pressure that was on them is gone... they go into the NCAA a little out of the spotlight and play 9 "home games" the rest of the way. That means huge, pro-Illini crowds and, most importantly, they'll be shooting on familiar rims.

I don't see a close game until the Elite 8.

my dad and I were in line at Manny's yesterday discussing how much of a trap game this was for the Illini. Basically everyone shouted us down and told us that we didn't know what we were talking about and we didn't know anything about college basketball.
