Stu?
Anyone else?

I'm gonna be there the first week in June and, if I have some time away from the family, I would love to meet up. Show me someplace in your city that I would dig...

I'm also trying to find an open mic thing somewhere near Franklin (where I'll be staying).

Tell me something good...

FRANKLIN

Thinking of possible open-mics, outside of McCreary's (see below), The Pond is one of the the only "cool" bars in Franklin - The Pond

The downtown area and neighborhoods around it are nice, quaint in that charming Southern way, and I recommend spending time there. There are some decent restaurants: Saffire (about 5 minutes from downtown), Red Pony, Sol, 55 South, McCreary's Irish Pub. And during the day, be sure to stop in to Meridee's.
Puckett's is also a really good Southern comfort food restaurant and they have live music. I think you'd dig it.
The rest of the town is suburban mall sprawl with McMansions dotting the surrounding hills that are filled with Bible-toting neuvo-riche conservatives. Femdisco just happens to have grown up in Franklin, but it's changed a lot in the last 15 years.

I'm not exactly sure what you're looking to do while in town, but be sure to pick up a copy of the Nashville Scene or visit their website for restaurant and event listings.

Keep in mind that Franklin is a 30 minute drive to Nashville up I-65, Hillsboro Rd or Franklin Rd. If you make it to Nashville, a visit to Grimey's and The Great Escape are called for if you want to go crate digging.

Patrick may have some recommendations I'm not thinking of.

Bummer. We'll be there the following week: me, the wife, and both kids! Although, like I said, we're hoping to get maybe one or two grownup nights to ourselves...

I don't think there are crummy seats at the Ryman, but 130 bucks is pretty steep. As an occasional Nashville tourist, I'd recommend Todd spend a few hours wandering down Broadway - lots of bars with live music, side to side. Hit Tubb's record store and Hatch show print if it's open.

I'm not a Noshville fan as I don't like overpriced sandwiches that suck, but it is the only Jewish deli/restaurant in Nashville that I'm aware of. Their breakfast is decent though.

Downtown Nashville is a must for the tourist. Even if you don't see Neil, try to make it to the Ryman for a tour. It's a block off the main "Lower Broad" strip.

Everybody staying safe? How are your homes holding up? I hope that y'all don't have much damage or anything.

The only damage my place received was a partially washed-away parking area. I have co-workers who took on water and will be dealing with it for some time to come.
Femdisco's place had no damage.
Basically anywhere in Middle TN that was situated near any flowing body of water, whether a stream, creek or river, is flooded.

The aerial photos over the weekend were incredible. Sections of the 'burbs were completely under water.
