holy hell, if you have the chance, do not miss out on this show. i really like the album, but live these songs were elevated to a whole other level. very aggressive and primal. jónsi was almost shaman-like up there...there was a kind of a tribal element going on and the actual visual accompaniment was like nothing i've ever seen. this also led to some humorous incidents where a few hipsters two rows ahead of me could not handle their drugs and eventually ended up leaving after almost getting into several fights. at a jónsi show.

anyways, the drummer was phenomenal. "tornado" and "grow til tall" were absolute highlights...along with a handful of songs that are not on the album. there has to be a dvd that comes out of this tour.

this gives you a little idea

the haters can flame on, but fuck it...i will continue to do whatever it takes to see sigur rós/jónsi whenever they are in my neck of the woods.

EPIC. BEST LIVE BAND GOING IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!111

ps. i only see about 2 live shows per year anymore

My wife got some sigur ros dvd from netflix and we watched it, and it was a couple of mopey little guys in sweaters meowing over a slow movie soundtrack and trying really hard not to look happy (or very alive). It was really pretty, but it made me feel ad/hd for not being able to pay attention past about 2 minutes. Nothing ... happened.

agree 100%. we caught his set at Coachella, and were absolutely blown away. the most emotional performance of the festival. everyone was dancing and vibin', and then by the end of the last tune "Grow Till Tall" wiping tears from their eyes. Really magical performance, and his band are incredible.

Goddammit, he played in Denver last night and I didn't go. I still haven't heard the album but I should probably get on that.

This dude and Sigur Ros just makes me feel all warm and happy and secure in my hate. Maybe if I'd bought into the idiocy of Radiohead I'd find the castrato Anglican choirboy vocals to be interesting instead of laughable, but I guess I'm just lucky that way.

My friend wanted me to go to the Philly show. Bummer that I missed/will miss it.

Agreed. Saw him in Denver last night at a great venue for his vibe. The visual alone for the closer was worth the entrance fee. It was a seated venue and people felt obligated to stand for the upbeat ones and sit for the chill tracks.

I didn't think I'd be able to make either of his Boston shows, but things worked in my favor and it looks like I'll be seeing him Wednesday. Anyone else going?

I actually would have preferred Thursday, but could only get Wednesday off since I wouldn't have enough time to get over there after work. Bummer.

I'm going to have to go ahead and agree. Incredible.

Had a great time with Dan. He took me to a bar in Fenway and I didn't even mind that much and I'm home before 3, so the night was a complete win.

Was it Grow Till Tall?

Sometimes you see an artist or band, and you walk away going "damn, that was great", and then you see someone like Jonsi, and walk away going "i just experienced something very special".
