I laughed my ass off the entire time.

The decision to go with an improvised comedy instead of a reality format was very smart. Very funny and the crazy old broad gets famous again. Good for her. She used to be one of the hottest women around, now she's one of the funniest. Both very cool.

It's an improv, where the plotline is worked out in advance but the actors make up the dialogue as they go. Some celebrities play themselves while others play really retarded fictional characters. It's not a reality show about Kirsty Alley getting fat. It's a lot better than that, more along the lines of It's Gary Shandling's Show, Larry Sanders, Curb Your Enthusiasm, etc., though it's not stylistically like them.

Alley is playing an extreme version of herself that's one step further than Shatner's self-parodies.

I've got this tivo'd this Friday. I've always loved Kirstie on Cheers, to me that's when the show really got going, after that annoying shrew left.
