...suck

I need to remember 300+ cd's that I had in my car until 2 nights ago when someone broke in and stole them all.
It's proving challenging

Just remember 300 cds that you want in your collection whether you had them before or not. I could think of 300 cd's that I want to be stolen, so I could replace them with better ones. ;)

Dang. Sorry to hear that. Happened to many a friend in college. Bummer of a situation.

Contents of your car are covered by home owners or renter's insurance unless I'm just spouting myths I've heard over the years.

I had the same thing happen on July 4, 2003 and guess what was the only CD left in my car, because it was in the disc player... Radiohead - Hail to the Thief

I went all over town to the used CD stores and gave them a list to look out for. Never heard a peep. I'm sure they were pawned or sold on Ebay by some thug.

Yeah they are.

Sucks nonetheless.

If you don't have insurance anyway, I wouldn't worry about developing a comprehensive list. Just download the stuff as you realize its missing. If you go a long time without realizing its missing, you probably don't really need it anyway.

Why did you have 300+ cds in your car anyway? Moving? work as a dj? otherwise I don't really get it.

Was it someone on here, or on a blog that had his laptop stolen and was tracing what the person was playing on it via last.fm?

and people think i'm crazy for keeping track of what i keep outside my music collection, whether it's in the car, office or on loan to someone.

I saw that somewhere once too and checked to see if the thief of my laptop was listening to anything but didn't see anything new scrobbled. Still, I think I'm going to use this as an excuse for any future bort competition losses.

There's no way I'm buying stu remembering this if he wasn't involved in the theft ring Now to convince a judge in Nashville to issue a search warrant. Get that list together PB.

ah, I assumed it meant you were making a list for insurance. Just download them as you remember. Post a "Stolen music requests" thread, and I'm sure we can fill them here.

Honestly thought your actual CAR was going to have been stolen when I opened the thread.

Sucks man but I guess it could've been worse.

But yeah, I've had my house robbed before and it makes you want to implement the cutting off of hands punishment.

What a co-inky-dink !! I gots my car window broken, and my cymbals and electronics stolen out of my car Saturday afternoon on a busy street, having just gone upstairs for a minute to say good-bye before my gig. Someone was watching and knew my routine.
