This is incredible.

I got tickets for 10/30 and 10/31, so I'm really pumped. This is the quote from last night's show:

Quote:
There's a reason why bands like to play in this room. It sounds great in here. It's an honor this band takes seriously playing the last shows at this building. We were flying in yesterday. We can see a gigantic football stadium and a big baseball stadium. And the other arena. The Spectrum looked just like a baby, but the history is the biggest. So we heard Bruce Springsteen tore the roof of the place last week. We have our work cut out for us. We ain't gonna be the clean up crew. By Saturday at ... 2 a.m., we're going to try to play every song we know. there may be some nobody knows.

Its been confirmed that Saturday's show is going until 2am. The security at the Spectrum has confirmed it. People are also reporting that Bon Jovi (meh) and Springsteen (!!!) are supposed to come on Saturday and be on stage. Based on last night's setlist, this is going to be an amazing stand. I mean, who wants to close out the Spectrum without putting on an absolutely face-melting show?

wish i had seen just one of those boss shows. they seemed incredible, next level to what i had seen at giants stadium (though nothing can touch that performance of darkness there). i'd love to see pearl jam, though. i haven't listened to them in years, but kind of find their ability to smile now a bit endearing. i heard eddie call in to e street radio on bruce's 60th and leave a funny and gay message about his favourite radio channel and bruce's biceps. with bruce playing in dc next week, it's hard to argue the likelihood he'll be there. eddie sounds amazing singing boss songs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4J54_MvGL0 (no surrender)

i saw Neil Young play what was supposed to be one of the last shows there, it was fairly incredible.

They should keep having shows there and calling it the "last show" forever.

Didn't they do that with JFK for awhile?

Official bootlegs of the shows are finally hitting the shelves. Unfortunately, its not the package hoped for with the blu-ray discs, and the notes and whatnot, but at least this is getting released.

Each night is available by itself, or you can spend $60 and get the 9 disc limited edition set, which is actually pretty affordable.

BTW--I'm hoping that the above pic is the packaging, because using the 76ers motif is very cool.

Got the boxset today. Damn. Quite a nice presentation. Pretty much the same quality as the Live at the Gorge boxset, but with the new cardboard cd booklets that they've been using on the bootlegs.

10.5 hours on 9 discs, with 142 songs. Its gonna be a looooong weekend of PJ here in the Rabbithole.
