What's the deal? We can't get these in Canada. I bought some last time I was in the U.S. and they are pretty much bursting with flavor.

Edit: after doing some reading, the hot dogs in question may be a Maine specialty. The casing is colored red, and they are often referred to as "red snappers" as well?

it's one of those hazy, what the hell do they actually mean kind of things. A red hot could be a normal dog, but it could be a natural casing dog, typically in a bright red casing.

I really want to try these but haven't been able to locate any locally. Gonna try some of the finer meat shops in town, and see if they have them.
