i curse the man who recommended these

why do people rave about these? there's virtually no bass unless you hold them firmly in place in your ear

they're absolutely butchering mezcal head :(

If these are in-earcanal headphones, they do have plenty of bass, but you have to get them fitting just right. I have the Sony equivalent and they've got a lot more bass than any other headphones I've ever heard, but they won't until they seal up your ear canal. Do they have bigger seals you can put on them?

No bass? Mine have bass to spare. Yours might be defective, or perhaps you're not fitting them in your ears properly.

yes

apparently mine have to be practically screwed into my ear canal in order to close the seal- until that's accomplished the sound is terrible

with that said

i highly recommend these. just be prepared for the possibility that your ear canals are one of the funky few

I really wanted to get a pair of these, but they are "open air," which, if I'm not mistaken, means other people can hear them, which would seriously limit my ability to use them. I've heard good things, though.

I've got those Grados. They sound great, and can be driven well by a walkman or portable CD player. The bad news is that they are indeed open air. They don't sound loud from the outside, but when you crank them up, people around you can hear a bit.

For this reason, I sometimes wish I had gotten some in ears instead. The Grados are great for home listening when you wanna play loud without disturbing people, but for public use, they are bulky and they let the sound seep out. So, I guess it depends on what you'd use them for.

Ya know, mine are still in good shape, if they sound like you'd be interested, I could see a trade as a possibility.

The Grados absolutely kick.. However, besides being open-air, they also make you look like a dork..BUT if you already look like a dork, then it dont really matter... best price/quality, IMHO

wait, so whats wrong with the e2c's? i always see positive reviews. I've never had good in-the-ear phones. But i'm due for some new earphones...so yeah. I was looking into these because most everyone loves them.

apparently the problem lies more with my ear canals than the earphones. the sound is really good once i'm able to create a seal inside, but there's just way too much effort involved in that for me. and i typically like the ability to move my head when i'm listening to something without worrying about losing the 'seal.' so unless i feel like either holding them in place or spending a few minutes before each listen positioning them perfectly and lying completely motionless for the duration the sound is absolute shit, no bass whatsoever. but apparently my case is not a common one. i read tons of customer reviews before i purchased these and with the exception of a few (reporting similar problems as myself) they were all glowing reviews

seriously get px-100s. best value for money

unless you have something against headphones and want them strictly jammed inside your ear
