The Authorities, from Stockton, California were formed in 1978 and has played over the years with bands such as DOA, the Dead Kenedys, Black Flag, Circle Jerks, Agent Orange and many others. In 1982 the Authorities released the much sought after Soundtrack for Trouble EP which is coveted by record collecting scum everywhere. The Soundtrack for Trouble is now available again on Get Hip Recordings with two bonus tracks, LSD and Between the Thighs. Other past releases include the Bourbon Decay EP (Out of Print) which was recorded with Gary Young of Pavement at his Louder Than You Think studios in Stockton, California and the recently re-released the Puppy Love LP/CD on Get Hip Recordings. The Authorities songs have also appeared on numerous punk rock compilations.
