I'm not sure they've published the whole list yet but they have released the top 10:

Quote:
1. A Day in the Life
2. I Want to Hold Your Hand
3. Strawberry Fields Forever
4. Yesterday
5. In My Life
6. Something
7. Hey Jude
8. Let It Be
9. Come Together
10. While My Guitar Gently Weeps

I agree with #1 and can get behind #'s 5, 8 & 10 being among the very best Beatles songs (or at least my favorites)

Discuss. Can't wait til someone gets uppity.

You like it's original title "Eat a strawberry out of my butt, you lousy, smelly cunt"

Mine too.

Hey Jude (especially) and Let it Be are the only ones that I think I strongly disagree with.

Hey Jude and Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds are my two least favorite Beatles tunes.

Oh man, I love "Let It Be". The little piano breakdown into the guitar solo gets me everytime.

#5 is a little sappy for me these days.

I'd rather see "I Am the Walrus" or "Happiness Is a Warm Gun".

Def. agree w/ #1. #2 is a little high, could be swapped w/ #6 if it was my list or taken out of the top 10 to make way for some other, better latter period song.

i'd like to see where no reply, get back and a few others fall on this list.

i don't really hate any of the top ten but there's others i'd rank above them.

I don't agree at all with this subjective list that I didn't compile.

great list so far, yet "Girl" is the best song they've ever written.

Hey Jude is the worst song in the history of man.

I'd rather listen to the Macarena.

Haha, not worse than every Def Leppard song every written, but it's up there as one of the most overplayed songs ever.

No, Hey Jude's shittier because it's longer. The fucking fade out alone is like 37 minutes of gibberish.

After the White Album, it's my favorite Beatles album.

Aerosmith kinda ruined "Hey Jude" for me.

Whenever I hear McCartney do his thing at the end, it always sounds like Steven Tyler.

That and just general overplay. Kind of makes it hard for me to judge most of these songs now.

My favorites that didn't make this top 10:
"I'm Only Sleeping"
"Hey Bulldog"

But, I agree (or at least can get behind) Nos. 1, 4, and 7.
Yeah, "Hey Jude" IS a great song. Fuck the haters... the overplay does color the way we all perceive it, methinks, but it is still a helluva tune.
And, they could have picked; a better early years song for the top 10; maybe "I'm Down" (a great rocker) or "A Hard Day's Night"?

To clarify, I'm not a hater. I just don't think "Hey Jude" or "Let It Be" belong anywhere near a top ten Beatles song list.

The one Aerosmith really ruined is "Come Together". Not one of my favorites anyway, but fuck, that shit probably inspired Kid Rock to have a music career. It's that bad.

Yeah, I mean I don't think I've ever heard an Aerosmith cover of "Hey Jude", if one exists. It's just that Steven Tyler seemed to have built his whole career off of what Paul McCartney does at the end of that song.

I haven't heard their cover of "Come Together" since I was a teenager, probably. I don't remember it being that bad.
