I used some restraint and didn't spell it with a 'ph'. All bullshit aside, I know there's some people on here who still enjoy these guys and look back fondly on some great shows. Here's the (first leg?) Summer Tour:

6/4 Jones Beach
6/5 Jones Beach
6/6 Great Woods
6/7 Camden
6/9 Asheville
6/16 St. Louis
6/18 Burgettstown
6/19 Deer Creek
6/20 Alpine Valley
6/21 Alpine Valley

No idea when tickets go on sale. This is taken from a Billboard article and Glide Magazine. Good luck on getting tickets, it'll be a bitch.

They will definitely play Bonnaroo.

Where are they playing in Asheville? That'll be the show I make it to, if I do at all. I can already smell the patchouli and B.O.

i'll gladly look back fondly on some great shows (like the excellent 8 disc live at the roxy that just came out), but their ain't no way in hell i'm going to see 'em live again.

i had free tickets for one of the other "reunion" shows - '03 maybe? - and it was fucking horrible. mexican cousin my ass...blech.

yeah, I saw them in Atlanta on one of their last tours and realized I wasn't on enough drugs. That's why I have qualms about going to see them again.

I don't mind Mexican Cousin since it was during the time I had some money and was drinking a ton of good tequila regularly. It was apropo.

They're playing the Civic Center here in Asheville. Ticketmaster onsale is Jan 30th, but I'd assume that mail-order, or rather online ordering, will be sometime next week.

The last 'reunion' period had some good shows. It was glaringly obvious when Trey was back on the oxycontin by the end of the run though. 2003 was good, 2004 was not. They're supposedly all cleaned up and just focusing on the music. They even have a new manager who is trying to milk the money side, so we'll see where this ends up.

On a related note, the Clifford Ball DVD box set is up for pre-order. The $79 price tag prohibits me from getting it right now, but shit that was a great festival. Solid playing and a lot of great experiences.

They'll save the Went for the next 'reunion'.

Thank god none of those are close enough for me to want to drive to them. I will be at Bonnaroo for Brooce though. Consequently, it will be my first show on "E" street, if you catch my wiff.

Ohhhhh tequila.

I may have misunderstood, but are you saying that you want to see Bruce Springsteen on ecstacy? Really? To me that's like trying to listen to the Swans on mushrooms or something.

The lineup for this edition of The Dead will be the same one that rocked the house at Penn State last fall at the Obama benefit: The Core Four of Phil Lesh, Bob Weir, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann, joined by guitar monster Warren Haynes and RatDog keyboard ace Jeff Chimenti (both veterans of the 2004 Dead "Wave That Flag" tour). The mood of the band for this Spring Fling is way up, so it’s sure to be a great tour!

PHISH newsletter Wrote:
ANNOUNCING PHISH: FESTIVAL 8

We're thrilled to announce Festival 8, a three-day Phish festival which will take place on October 30th, 31st and November 1st at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. With lush green fields and palm trees, and surrounded by vistas of California's majestic Santa Rosa mountains, the festival site is simply breathtaking. And for the first time ever, Phish will combine two of its most cherished traditions - a multi-day camping festival and performing on Halloween - in a glorious three-day celebration.

Keeping the tradition of past Halloween shows, Phish will don a musical costume on Halloween night and cover another band's album. The tradition began on Halloween 1994 with Phish covering The Beatles' The White Album. In subsequent years, they covered The Who's Quadrophenia, Talking Heads' Remain in Light and the Velvet Underground's Loaded.

The band will play eight sets over the course of three days, and as with all past Phish festivals, fans will enjoy on-site camping, numerous attractions and art installations throughout the weekend.

Tickets for Festival 8 will go on sale Monday, July 27th at 10AM Pacific Time for $199 + $1 WaterWheel Donation (plus applicable service fees) via http://places.musictoday.com/festival8/. This includes entry for all 3 days into the event area. All vehicles entering the Car Camping area must also purchase a $15 Vehicle Pass. Limited Car Camping is available. Gates will open for the event at NOON on Thursday, October 29th. Capacity is limited, so advance ticket purchase and carpooling is strongly encouraged.

We've created an official Festival 8 website at phish.com/festival8, where you can find exhaustingly detailed information about the event. We've posted the first wave of information about the festival and plan to update it regularly as more details are confirmed. Complete information, including a listing of different travel packages, is available at now at http://www.phish.com/festival8.

and in the same location at Coachella. I'm sure the Coachella attendees will have a tough time removing the taint of Phish playing on their sacred grounds from their hipster minds.
