I need recommendations for a scary movie night

So this friday, a bunch of my friends are having a scary movie night and I've been appointed the task of finding the scary movies. Now, last halloween I was in charge and I ended up choosing this:

It pretty much sucked. Wasn't scary at all.

So, what can you guys recommend? I need scary. I am thinking of going with 28 Days Later as a backup if I can't find anything that fits the bill, but I'm sure everyone has seen that already.

Whatcha got?

Ringu is a good one, but I know they've seen Ringu cause they recommended it to me years ago.

I'm kinda in the mood for a zombie movie. Or a ghost/haunting flick, like Paranormal Activity or something chilling like that.

Man, Trick R Treat is a great movie... but probably not ideal for "i need something to scare the willies outta everyone".

My philosophy is, "when it doubt, go old school"... so I'd suggest perhaps Psycho or The Shining... or for something with a bit more bite, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. If you want something newer, The Descent or The Orphanage are both really well done horror titles from the past few years. (Viewer beware--The Orphanage, while great, is a Spanish film, so the whole thing will be in subtitles).

I liked Orphanage. I Had no pre-notions about it when I rented it.

I always thought The Others was pretty creepy. Frailty is a good one if you've never seen it. The Changeling, Gearge C. Scott's is eerie.

Evil Dead 1 and 2 are Halloween Staples for me. Also Phantasm (both horror and kitsch)

I recently watched The Eclipse (Irish movie) and while it's not really a horror movie, there are a few "horror" scenes that are a lot more scary than shit in most horror movies.

question on the US DVD release of Let The Right One In. reviews i'm reading are saying they changed the overdubs and it's basically ruined the movie. these reviews are mostly a year or so old and mention they should be releasing a new version with the original overdubs. anyone know if this has happened? i can't tell from the product description on amazon.

The new version says "subtitles: english (theatrical)" on the back of it. Unfortunately, there's not really any way to tell that on amazon unless maybe you contact the seller.
