anyone get this yet? pro's/con's?

my wife was due for an upgrade, so we visited the VZ store this weekend. checked out the Droid but we weren't very impressed. she took home the new BB Tour, and since BB was buy one, get one free, i traded in my curve for the new Storm 2. i might be heading back this week to exchange for the Tour.

I have heard nothing but bad things about the storm!

this is probably finally the closest thing to an iphone killer but still flawed (like the native iphone)

probably lots of hope in the android community though and i predict that the fears of apple will come to be realized and that the iphone will become more of a social/gaming/novelty device (admittedly still the market leader) whereas the android platform will house the real productivity in the mobile realm

so I should go for it? I have never dropped cash on a phone before

I found the HTC Eris to me pretty interesting. I'm not really interesting in a Motorola phone nor with a slide out keyboard. Anyone have HTC phone insight? Good, bad, ugly?

A friend of mine just got one and seems to love it, I played around with it a little, and it seemed pretty good, but I still prefer the iPhone.

The storm 2 is way better than the first one.

I prefer any phone with a full keyboard to one that takes up half of the screen. I haven't used an android phone yet, but I am very excited about the potentials that Google presents over what Apple controls.

i would definitely go check it out. my friend has it, and fuck me is it nice.

if you're new to Android, you'll be pleasantly surprised at it's capabilities.

HTC devices are known for their quality parts. i own the myTouch 3G, and it's by far the most solid handset i've owned.

and for the price, that HTC Eris can't be beat.

I got the HTC droid last night.
So far I love it. I have never had a smart phone. I am trying to figure out how to rely solely on Google Voice so I can ditch my text plan, etc.

i'm actually getting used to it a bit. i won't be able to type one-handed while i drive anymore like i could with the curve, but that's probably a good thing.

I am digging the HTC. I decided this over the Motorola. My brother insisted the motorola is better but I have yet to see proof of this.
plus, I don't need a lot of the fancy things.
Still figuring things out like how to route texting to google voice so I don't have to deal with a text plan, etc.
