Fuck those polls. Dawgs don't need 'em.

Here and now: Dawgs win the regular season SEC crown

Mark Fox is the real deal and we return 4 starters, SEC player of the year candidate Trey Thompkins, Mr. Basketball in Georgia Marcus Thornton, and a better PG who can shoot.

I haven't been this excited about a college basketball season in probably a decade.

I'm curious about this Pitt team, especially since they don't have any stud players. I think they're get far, but 5 feels a little high and probably mostly related to the amount of time most of these guys have spent together on the court.

Oh man, wake me up after Christmas, the BCS or possibly the Super Bowl depending on the number of compelling stories: Too soon for college hoops.

That's what I'm thinking.

My Huskers were picked to finish tenth in the Big 12, so I am simply hoping they win enough games to get into the NIT and host at least one post season game again.
I'll be watching all the Big Ten teams this year, since they will be beating Nebraska down on the hardwood next season, and I'll be keeping tabs on the Jayhawks to see if they can continue their domination of the Big 12 Hoops, since K-State is suppose to have a juggernaut squad this season.

Washington was the media consensus to win the Pac 10 this season. They return 8 of their top 9 from last season's rotation and have added a pretty good class, including a legit, shot-blocking, 7-foot JC transfer. Their back court is one of the best in the country but they're lacking overall size up front.

I'm optimistic for another NCAA tourney run. We'll see.

God, I'm so sick of Izzo...I respect the guy and all and he's obviously a great coach, but for once, I'd like to see State just suck the way UNC sucked last year.

I'm not going to say anything about a certain undefeated, yet unranked team.

Thanks to the Big Ten Network (which I love for Hoops season alone) I have seen 7-8 Ohio State games. Despite losing National Player of the Year Evan Turner, this TEAM is even better. Each night a different leading scorer emerges, and 5 guys all hit double digits. The #1 recruiting class, mixed with Senior leadership, makes for a balanced attack. Freshman Jared Sullinger is a beast, and as good as advertised.

Ready for conference play to begin!

Big Ten play will be beastly this year...it's not as tough as the Big East, but there are some solid teams this year.

I'm still kinda shocked that Pitt managed to win a big game for once.

Being new to the Milwaukee area, I got to see my first Marquette game on New Year's Day... good times. They've got potential...

Finally, some recognition before Cincinnati gets destroyed by Syracuse next week.

Buzz Williams is the man...they've got a pretty rag-tag squad this year, but they play hard. Marquette games are a fun time, they generally do a pretty good job at filling up the building, which makes for a good atmosphere.

I have refrained from posting the ESPN Bracketology until now, but with March Madness approaching and conference play in full swing, it is high time to discuss the 2011 NCAA Tournament

http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/bracketology

The current number one seeds are Ohio State, Pitt, Kansas and Texas
Loads of Obner teams mentioned, but Georgia is currently one of the teams on the outside of the bubble.
My Huskers need to continue to win at home and knock off a rated conference on the road before they get mentioned as a legitimate bubble team, but they certainly are playing much better than expected this season.

I haven't been posting in the thread but I've been watching a good bit of hoops this year and ALL of the UGA games. We're a far cry from my prediction earlier in the thread but I still like our chances for the tourney. Our conference schedule was pretty front loaded with tough games. We now get to play a few bottom feeders and have a random home game with Xavier which would go a LONG way towards our RPI.

Still, if we hold serve at home, go 9-7 in conference, beat Xavier, I think we go.

I watched a large chunk of the Michigan/Ohio St. game last night. Mostly because of Jared Sullinger. Hadn't seen him play yet. He's as good as advertised but I'm not buying the Buckeyes yet. They're great but I think they've beat up on some mostly mediocre teams. I checked their schedule and the toughest part of their schedule is yet to come. Some tough road tests.

Fuck my team this year. Top 5 recruiting class, and we are currently 2-6 in the ACC, having lost the past 3 or 4 straight. Unless something changes drastically, I do believe it is time to say goodbye to Sidney Lowe.
