So this will definitely be in my Top 20

thanks to contradiction who inadvertently tipped me off to it's existence, and to think I call myself a Sadies fan.

The Velvet Underground: Singles 1966-1969

Well, we all know all these songs by now I'm sure. The question I guess here is do you need them in another format? The answer? Maybe. Personally, I like listening to the single edits of the songs and was surprised how well stuff like All Tomorrow's Parties translates to the single format. Of course, the set is a bit pricey for the amount of music you get...you could easily buy a used copy of their box set for the same cash. And, if you've not got a turntable the thing is no use to you. For me, it's worth it for the packaging and then with a rip to the computer I can listen with my iPod wherever with all the music just compiled as a single album. Even if the whole set isn't worth it to you, I'd suggest finding a way to at least give the thing a listen. Just enough differences in the single versions of these songs to peak some interest so I figure if you're a fan, you'll wanna check it out.

That Replacements record is really very underrated. The songwriting on there is pretty much all first-class, as are the performances. The only real misstep is "My Little Problem". Napolitano's histronics are pretty cringe-inducing. But I love the rest.

Nouvelle Vague - Best of

This is a pretty fun album. It takes a bunch of 80s (mostly) new wave songs and transforms them into lounge/Latin pop tunes. The schtick does get a bit repetitive, but there's nothing like hearing "Too Drunk To Fuck" performed this way.

This, No Dice, Ass, and Magic Christian Music have finally been given the proper remastering from Apple with all that added reverb removed. Now if someone at Warner's would follow suit and give Wish You Were Here the same treatment.
