I guess this came a little while ago, but I just picked it up today.

SO FUCKING QUAL. Not that I expected any different, but the first song is kind of a rocker. It's got covers of The Band's "It Makes No Difference" and The Stones' "I Got the Blues." If you like any kind of Stax/Motown/Memphis/Philly/wherever Soul, you should peep this.

Not sure how it stacks up to the last one, but it is definitely going to be Top 10 for me unless some crazy shit starts coming out.

Agreed about the first song (I thought you'd dig that one actually). I think Don't Give Up On Me had much stronger songs, but everything else is there in the right place.

I do like th efirst song, and was actually hoping for more like it on the album. I think the production is much cleaner on this one, but its still awesome. Agreed about the songs...Always Keep A Diamond in Your Mind is one of my favorite songs, period.

I like his versions of Makes No Difference and I Got the Blues, and the rest o fthe album is pretty solid. This one needs a car ride on backroads for me to suss out its true meaning, though...my favorite way to experience blues or soul...driving through where it came from.
