Well alrighty. Here is my Top 30 Albums of 2010. These are the long players that I've enjoyed the most. Looking back at the list, I still play the crap out of most of these releases.

If you'd like a download link for any of them, just let me know.

This is my favorite photograph from this year, so it's a fitting placement.

Cool. I should probably give that Gorillaz album a listen.

Wow, its like Christmas decorations in stores--feels like this stuff happens earlier and earlier each year.

These will probably make my list in some capacity:

11 Jónsi - Go

yeah, i actually did it early this year because, well, i have a bit of time at the moment (rare nowadays).

i've selected 100 of my favorite tracks from 2010 as well. i'll be uploading them all here within the next few days. i'll also be doing separate lists for my Top 10 EPs of the year, and Top 10 Metal releases.

I liked that Surfer Blood at the time and now I can't find what I liked about it.

Thanks for reminding me about Morning Benders though. good record.

That Surfer Blood record is still (imo) just a damn good example of indie rock. It's simple in the way The Strokes or even The Shins are, and that's what I love about it. Seeing them live solidified my love for them as well.

Yeah, that Morning Benders album is one of my favorite finds this year. Never heard them before, and that album just floored me. It's so huge sounding, and flows like a proper LP should.

I forgot all about the Surfer Blood. I don't know if it'll rank with me but I did like the album. Definitely will have Ariel Pink, Arcade Fire and Erykah on mine. I haven't played Warpaint yet and should soon.

Nice on Ariel Pink, Beach House, and Gorillaz in the top 10. And Deerhunter, too, I guess, but I think I like this one a little less than their previous two albums.

Mount Kimbie really hasn't done much for me, but it has one of my favorite album covers of the year.

haha yeah, that's a classic cover. thought it was a joke when it first came out. glad it wasn't.

their edits and placement of fx and bass really grab me. one of the most creative electronic releases this year for sure.

Drinky, what other electronic bits did u dig from 2010? i guess i could just wait for your end of the year.

It'll be a while before I post my list, but may favorites have been, more or less in order, Pantha du Prince, Autechre (the 2nd one they put out - Move of Ten), Flying Lotus, Oneohtrix Point Never, Forest Swords (if that counts), and Emeralds. The only one of those that will likely be in my top 20 is PdP. I've been kind of down on new electronic music for a while now.

I need to give that Oneohtrix Point Never a listen. Put it off, and not sure why. Thanks for the reminder. That Forest Swords is just so great. Night time listening.

like both of these albums...not sure Morning Benders makes my top 20 though.

I thought Warpaint was pretty boring, didn't make it through a single listen. However, I downloaded Wild Nothing based on it being your number 1 and while I was thinking about shutting it off a few times something kept it going for me. By the end I decided I did like it after all and will likely play it again.

i can see how people might find Warpaint pretty boring actually.

yeah, definitely stick with that Wild Nothing man. it sounds like a record that might have come out on 4AD in the 80s/early 90s that I would have loved. really great. he recorded it all in his bedroom as well.

that new Dungen album left as little an impression on you as it did me, eh?

i didn't think it was bad, i just can't really remember a single thing from it. maybe i need to give it a few more spins.

it really fell short for me as well man. pretty disappointing overall, minus say Min Enda Vän & Barnen Undrar. shame really, especially after 4, which i still rate as brilliant.
