I just can't listen to Adz... and I am a huge Sufjan fan. These lists are funny (they surprise me.. ha aha ) half of your picks will be on my list, but I think Joanna Newsom really isn't even music.

Another one I keep seeing on lists but never heard is Titus Andronicus. Also, that might be my least favourite Neil Young album. After an initial positive listen I began having difficulty mustering up desire to play it again.

depending on certain variables during the year, my list could've ended up looking very similar to this, and will. there are a number here that i have to spend more time with.

Unfortunately I agree on Le Noise. Initially it was impressive, but I am really not motivated to play it much.

Excellent #1 choice.

Interesting list. A lot of stuff on there that I'm not familiar with at all and am a little bit curious about.

some real cool inclusions here that probably won't be on anyone's list - but i don't get the love for the Sollee. Oh well.

Thanks for the comments.

Le Noise stuck me a lot longer than I initially thought--but when I think about my favorite albums by Neil, stuff like "Arc" inevitably come up. I drew a really strong point to point on that. As for Joanna, well seeing her live was definitely a catalyst. Overall though, I just felt like that record was so much more dominant from everything I listened to. As hard as it may seem, I found myself singing the songs or just humming parts.

Only ones we have in common are the DBTs and Mavis Staples. The only other I've heard from your list is the Jamey Johnson though and its possible that it would grow on me with additional listens.

I think I've heard enough of Joanna Newsom to know that she's not for me, but I was really surprised to see that album #1 on Uncut's list for 2010.

Sorry Bobbo, both Nels Cline records from 2010 sound nothing like his Wilco accomplishments. Dirty Baby is definitely more abstract. If you dig John Zorn, you'd like it. Dirty Baby is a concept record, so you kinda have to enjoy the aspect of what he's trying to accompany in order to fully appreciate the album.

Shiv, I'm kinda surprised you thought there would be more in common. Interesting. But then again, I guess I did comment and/or ask for uploads on a bunch of albums you had in the NP list.
