i want to edit the jamey johnson down to like 12-15 songs and then I would love it. I like a lot of it and dislike a lot of it.

I should probably listen to that Jamey Johnson again. It kind of seemed like paint-by-numbers outlaw country, who's popularity is explained only as a reaction to modern country radio. But I only kinda listened to it.

musically, it is. the number of songs allows quite a bit of variation without it sounding too forced, but yeah. It's nothing truly special like some people say - but his songwriting is clearly more clever and just overall better than most country writers there. But the reactionary effect is why it's popular and also part of the reason I would call it good, however lame that is.
