Cowlick, huh? They seem pretty good. Where'd you hear about them?

There's a ton of stuff on that list I've never heard and quite a bit I've never heard of. Keeping all this shit to yourself, huh? Guess I can't blame you, at least as far as this board is concerned.

I'm kinda surprised this album hasn't made more of a splash among the Titus Andronicus types around here. Then again... then again.

Oh, you mean Pitchfork missed them? How unfortunate for you.

I heard Cowlick on CBC3 awhile back and really liked them a lot; the album is also a quick 27 min in length which usually left me wanting to play it again. I could have easily swapped #1 and Young Rival's #2 around as they're both easy favourites for me in 2010.

Also, I think I may have shared Young Rival in the 2010 thread a few months ago, but that's about it.

A lot of CanCon on this list. I'm surprised I'm not the only one who likes C'mon.

Great list, DJ.

I can hook you up with Gertrudes in the AM, Dale. In the meantime, I added myspace links for previews up in my list. I'd suggest you check out Cowlick and Young Rival, both of which I think you'll like. Also, check out Slowcoaster, Zeus and Elvyn too. The others, like Huron, Luke Doucet, The Beauties are of the Neil Young/Americana variety, which I don't think you're much of a fan. Actually one might want to pin the Gertrudes in that latter genre as well, but they might be a bit too weird to lump them in there, strictly speaking considering their work with PS I Love You. Anyway, if you or anyone else wants something specific, just let me know.

I'll add to the damn its. I've got my listening cut out for me. That's what I love about these lists - seeing a ton of shit I missed.

Yeah, this is silly. I don't know half of these... searched and really liked them. This makes me nervous, stop it. Didn't Weakerthans release anything then? Eh? I think I am a Titus Andronicus type...oh, you mean the band.

Yeah, it's always a little scary to see a list from someone who's taste often overlap your own that is so foreign...and then you see that KoL album so high and think "maybe I'm not missing anything"

Because, lemme tell ya, I was with those guys for a long time and while I didn't really dig the last one that much, it at least had some redeeming songs and hell, even the hits were fun. But this new one is bad and by bad, I mean terrible and by terrible I mean I had to turn it off.

I played KoL's last one and didn't really care for it, even the singles that grew so popular. This new one I liked through and through. Bloor you'd really take this album as a metric for not wanting to hear anything else on my list? Jesus, man.

Calm down, Nancy. I was merely saying that it's pretty crazy that one list could provoke both wonderment and curiosity and simultaneous revulsion, pity and shame. Such is the duality of the list making game, non?

I know of 2 in your top 10. I have a feeling my list is going to look pretty generic in comparison.

I'm with DJ - new KoL is their best since Aha Shake Heartbreak.
