I like a lot of these albums. I need to listen to Dr. Dog. I remember listening to their first release a few years back and was kind of indifferent about it, and haven't checked out their last few because of that.

I agree the new Dr. Dog is their most accessible. Love it.

btw... for those of you who don't know, that Kyle Kinane is an outstanding stand-up comedy debut cd.

This will probably be the most similar to my list. Except I can't get into The Black Keys much. Like the White Stripes, The Raveonettes or even that Parting Gifts - I like their songs in the context of mixes or coming up on random, but anything more than 3 straight tunes and my ears glaze over.

I don't know if I've ever heard Dr. Dog, but based on our similarity in musical preferences I probably should.

They're a fucking dream for people who put music in commercials or make bumpers for TV or radio. Right up there with The Who and Van Halen.

Right, except less obvious, and less expensive ;)

Truth, but I think (hope) they've done pretty well here lately. They are in a shit ton of adverts.

I think they do ok enough not to work as line cooks, but in the new Spin they still talk about touring from a lower tier band level. Staying in Hampton inns and shit.

Very consistent taste. I wish I could focus on one kind of music... it would be so much easier to be loyal and wise about one kind of music rather than a poseur dilettante about many.
