Living With Yourself features instrumental guitar with effects, electro/acoustic textural elements and vocal samples that do a good job of conveying emotion of the theme the album deals with (life, family, probably death). The album art gives you an idea of the nostalgia McGuire is creating music to deal with:


Emeralds never sunk its hooks in to me. I know it did with harry, OPA, and to some extent Drinky, so they'll have to expound its virtues. contradiction covered it in his 2010 thread HERE

I definitely like the Mark McGuire album more than Emeralds, but I only heard it recently. The best parts of Emeralds - for me - are when you can clearly hear Mark's guitar.
