King-Federal Rockabillys

Excellent if brief overview of some classic rockabilly singles originally released on the King and Federal labels by the likes of Mac Curtis, Charlie Feathers and more. If a quick and easy single disc distillation of this sort of thing is enough for you, this one would be a fine choice. Check out the fuzzy guitar sound on Hank Mizell's Jungle Rock. The White Stripes: De Stijl

This one totally holds up and I expect to keep listening to this for a long, long time. Simple and stripped to the bone bluesy rock numbers. I am a fan and pretty much like their whole catalog, but this seems to be the one that sucks me back in over and over again.

I re-listened to this somewhat recently. It's better than I remembered but WBC will always be my favorite of their's.

Esben & The Witch - Violet Cries

I like White Blood Cells quite a bit as well, I just think it sounds a bit more "of its time" where De Stijl has a more timeless quality to it for me. I think that's just because of how stripped down it is.

I'm not sure but it sounds nothing like the Stooges. More like hair metal. I think there was one song that was halfway decent.
