Here is a link to my photostream. If you double-click the image, then it will enlarge upon a black screen for better viewing.

Over the past year, I've been getting more serious about photographing bands as they come through town. I've hooked up w/ one of the local promoters, in exchange for free passes. It's worked out nicely.

I'd appreciate any comments, thanks.

I like the first one in the BBJr. set a lot.

Good work, mate.

Thanks All

That 1st Bobby Bare is dear to my heart because he and Blue Giant were really sick w/ the flu (2nd-to-last show of tour), but you wouldn't guess that from his smile.

In the next couple of months I'll be photographing Cowboy Mouth, Greenhornes, James McMurtry w/ Bottle Rockets, Hayes Carll, and I'm on stand-by for Tweedy....

Nice job Mo. How was Darden Smith? I didn't realize anyone else here liked him. I saw he had a new album last year but I never got around to hearing it.

Billy, "Marathon" is a strong album all around. He really sets a nice mood & tone with his deep Texas roots. He's just one of those consummate Texas songwriters, who's engaging and polished on stage.

I discovered "Deep Fantastic Blue", which he told me is now out-of-print, in '97. I've always loved the song, "Drowning Man". That was the my first shoot for the local promoter. I talked w/ Darden a while. Super nice guy. I sent him some shots, and am awaiting what he thinks.

Really good shots. I'm a huge King Khan fan so I like this one the best:

It looks like you mostly use a 50mm lens. Have you tried a longer focal length to get some closer shots? A 70-200 works great, although they're expensive, but you can rent them for less than $50 a day.

Good choice. It's also one of my favorites. I didn't even know you could rent? I'm setting money aside for either a 14-24 or 24-70. Recently, I got a 35 f1.8 (<$200) that I haven't used or broken in because I love my 50.

Renting is a great way to try lenses before you buy them, or if you need something specific for a shoot. Check out Borrow Lenses.
