Just looked up a review. Sounds up my alley. I'll have to check it out tomorrow.

I might have liked this at some point when I was a kid, but these days this is where I get off the shoegaze train and let the young ones at it.

seafoam give it another chance! i'm all over this. i'm hearing bits of polvo, pond, maybe grizzly bear, hmm...it reminds me of other stuff, i'll try to think of it. varied tempos, some shoegaze, some post-rocky feel... love it.

I confess I like the more smooth sheen melodic shoegaze [you sold me back to Lower Dens] I def hear the autolux et al, but I'm an old man now, my kids don't like it, drives the wife batty, too much confusion not enough melody, my only chances are headphones late night like now or driving while at work, but saint, I'll try again cuz I aint dead yet, i'ma fighter, still like to rock even if it'll buzz out my remaining hearing, and on a rare night drinking rum instead of that wine

Interesting.. I though my reaction to Grooms was similar to my response to Lower Dens... very listenable easy going music with a hard guitar edge suggested with delicious sonics. I really loved Lower Dens for the first 10 listens and then it didn' hold up. I predict the same for Grooms.

Yeah, I should qualify.. it's relative. I thought with Lower Dens "wow, finally a music that completely satisfies me and sounds both classic and brand new." That is it was one of my favorite finds last year and seemed to come out from nowhere (which is what I love). I still llike it but it just sounds "good" not "watershed." After two listens I really love the spacious sound of Prom, and it sounds classic and new. It's definitely one of the more satisfying releases this year... so far.
