Anyone else trying it? It seems to be a pretty easy and well laid out version of services that other companies have tried and failed at before. Tying into the Amazon Market and the Android App is pretty cool. You get 5GB free and any mp3 purchases from the market don't count towards that total.

Everyone knows they will be coming out with an Android based Kindle in the near future to really capitalize on their Android and MP3 markets.

I definitely like the Cloud Drive idea. Not sure how much I'll use the player, but at the very least as a free backup for anything I buy digitally from Amazon, it's nice.

Jobs better get a version of this done before he goes into permanent standby mode.

uploaded the new Fleet Foxes album to it. player is nice, works well.

tested it on my iPhone 4, and the Firefox browser (on my iPhone) won't see the cloud player page. hope they update this.

I'm sure there will be an Amazon Cloud Player iPhone app in the near future. I can't imagine why there wouldn't be.

I already had the Amazon Mp3 app on my Epic 4G, so I'll be testing this out once I get home (just did the manual update to the app). Sounds really cool.

FWIW, I don't think the price points for 50 or 100GB of storage are that bad.

i havent had time to read into this. so does this store just the albums you buy thru amazon or can you upload any and all music from your library

To me, this is way bigger than music. I'll be using it for video and graphic files. Seems like a great way to always have access to proofs, etc of work.

Yea, they have storage for anything you want, but you can somehow use the player app to play the music you store. I uploaded some tunes to a folder and played it on the web and it worked fine. I'm not sure how easy it would be to sort thru folders and artists and then play it back thru the app. It seems easier (higher quality) to just have it on a microSD card or on the phone than streaming the music from my phone, but it might be handy to put additional albums that don't fit.

It seems like Facebook, Google and Apple get all the "computing innovators of the future" label, and Amazon gets passed over. I like Amazon, a lot, but they are also in a really interesting spot, since they do such a wide retail business and have a whole different set of data than the other guys. They've made some cool moves lately, plus that whole free Kindle rumor, it makes for a more interesting playing field.

Google's music service is slow moving since they are getting legal clearance and blessing from the record labels. Amazon put this up out of nowhere and are getting a lot of flack for it.

Amazon did this right. The only flack they are getting is from Google, Apple, and their fanboys, and the Music industry. Most non-industry folks are supportive of it.

This has been working fine for me today. Albums are a bit slow loading but other than that it's great.

Google docs is good for that, too. Esp. now that you can preview PSDs and shit.
