Saw em three times at SXSW and they seem to be in a funk, though I'm hoping it's from being limited to only 40 mins.
They were doing business as a three-piece, which could also be part of it.
I'm going to see them Wednesday (yeah, I know) because when they're on they do everything I like in music.

Saw em recently...kind of meh. The lack of a real drummer is pretty lame.

At Les Saints?

Me too if I can find a ticket.

Played a dozen times at SXSW yet missed everyone one of their gigs.

I did meet Sharon at a Autolux show so that made up for it.

Yes. Never been to Les Saints, the website makes it seem like a very good venue. Looking forward to it notwithstanding the luke -warm impression they seem to have left on people.

Bumping a 3 year old thread to say I'm hitting their show tonight in Atlanta.

I think I'm on record that I'm an unapologetic fanboy of what they do.

Looking forward to it. Hoping for some blistering white noise.

Random fact: the place I'm seeing them has 2 areas for bands (and can have shows in both simultaneously) and the band playing in the other room is John Popper & The Dusk Ray Troubadours.

i saw them last week. they're a 4-piece now. some of the new stuff is more synthy than they've done in the past. but they're just a really solid live band. the set list was five or six songs from the new album and the rest were old hits and fan favorites. you'll definitely get your blistering white noise request fulfilled.

They played at my friend's bar last night. Considered going but couldn't muster up the motivation.

Even though they do some of my favorite things in music I skipped them here on Tuesday because I've left disappointed one or two too many times. I interviewed Sharin last week and she said they were going heavy on the new record in concert, which I'm pretty "meh" on, so that played into my decision too.

Heard the show was great.

Can't win 'em all.

Which one is the new one?

I always love one or two tunes on each record, and then end up liking them on random, but not really listening to them that much.

I fully admit their albums are totally hit and miss but I just dig their particular cup of drano.

I could make a GREAT 13-15 song comp with their stuff.

Here's a comp I made the other day for a friend with a couple songs off each album if ya want it...

https://www.yousendit.com/download/VnBv ... UjVFQlE9PQ

Also, just saw 'em live last Friday night and I thought it was a great show, but I am a fan so take that for what it's worth. Mostly the duo on guitar and bass with 2 extra musicians playing small stand up drum kits and occasionally grabbing an extra guitar or other instrumentation to fill things out. Tons of feedback and fuzz and reverb. Also, had to tell the girl I was with that given the opportunity I would ditch her and run away with Sharin Foo. Totally my rock chick crush right now.

Yes, Aaron is touring with him. (I knew he played on the album but didn't realize he also cowrote some of the tunes--pretty cool).

You should have had them park their touring van in the backyard at Redlands and shot off some guns with Popper.

Great show and my white noise fix has been met. I missed the first 5-6 songs because right when we were trying to get into the parking lot, what seemed like a 1000 16 year olds came pouring out into the streets in the rain and the cops wouldn't let anyone in the parking lot. Exiting only.

Anyone ever heard of a band called A Day To Remember? Apparently they're quite popular with the kids these days. Sold out show and just about every single one of them were rocking their A Day To Remember black t-shirt or hoodie. There were kids EVERYWHERE. We openly had to go to a bar nearby, have a drink, and wait it out. Like, the streets were lined with moms picking some of the kids under 16 up. Total nightmare. This was in addition to the other TWO bands also playing the same location.

Also, this. She's just impossibly sexy and when she sings solo it just ratchets it up even more.

Watching them with the strobe lights, dry ice fog, and the wall of noise, I told Sex, Drugs, and Dave (who was in attendance) I felt like I was in some bizarro scene from Less Than Zero. Like, Andrew McCarthy is there to find Robert Downey and he finds him coked up, blowing some dude while this band is playing.

Good times.
