Thought that too. Even had a discussion at work about it.

Spicoli's fling with Scar-Jo inspired him to record a covers record.

"This Must Be the Place" (Cannes - 2011); starring Sean Penn, Directed by Paolo Sorrentino:

Synopsis: Cheyenne is a former rock star. At 50 he still dresses "Goth" and lives in Dublin off his royalties . The death of his father, with whom he wasn't on speaking terms, brings him back to New York. He discovers his father had an obsession: to seek revenge for a humiliation he had suffered. Cheyenne decides to pick up where his father left off, and starts a journey, at his own pace, across America. --

Music contributions by David Byrne (FWIW). Robert Smith should be calling his attorney.

I pass on all Sean Penn movies.

Might I remind you of a little movie called Bad Boys? And not the Martin Lawrence/Will Smith one that they play all the time on TBS - the one I discovered that they have on Netflix instant where Penn buys they Cokes and puts then in the pillowcase and nails that one creepy dude who grew up to play the badass prison guard in Shawshank.
