I picked this up over the weekend, based upon the rec. of a trusted record store employee.
First listen: not so hot. I mean, the sound of the thing is where it should be: nice old-school soul sound a la Bill Withers. But the lyrics (way too easily understood) are forced, kinda trite, and the kind of thing that can ruin an otherwise cool song. As evidenced by this tune, in particular:
Second listen: I didn't mind the lyrical content quite so much and am starting to enjoy the album a little more, if not as much as I wish that I did.
I've seen some other folks on here comment on A.B. before, but am curious to get some more opinions on him, and whether or not it's worth digging in a little more, should the upward enjoyment trajectory continue.
