Anyone remember mid to late 90s the punk/ska/hxc music catalog Anti-? Can't find any reference to it online. It was Anti-, right?

Pretty sure it was the roots of what eventually became the Epitaph sub-label in 99.

No, that's the label. There was a physical catalog that got was glossy with newsprint pages that got stuck into AP, Maximum RnR, and other punk mags. It was like 100+ pages of just records and descriptions. It was pre-internet obviously. But I can't find any images or even any mention of the catalog online. Even Anti- label's wiki doesn't mention it. Just kinda reminiscing this afternoon about them.

I'd be happy about this except a buddy was one of the tour crew...now out of work for a few months.

Saw The Cults last night. Decent if unspectacular show. It is funny when these bands with only 8-10 songs play a gig, they play the album and got nothin' else. You'd think they could toss in a cover or 3 if nothing else. Still, well worth the 10 bucks.

I remember the Anti- catalog.

even worse is a band with one album doesn't even play every song from it. first time i saw pains of being pure at heart, they headlined with 25 minutes of material. i asked their singer afterward why they cut it short. he was like, "that's all we've got."

I wish there was somewhere to test it out via a download. Having to go through the hassle of setting a 10 second crossfade between all the songs isn't something your standard media player software can do.

iTunes can do it super easily. Just go into "Playback" in your preferences.

I may try this one day. Seems pretty hokey.

It's Radiohead. Some slavering dolt will be doing it right now and it'll be viral before the week is out.

The Monty Python album from that article seems pretty cool.

Also the Aphex Twin spectrograph thing is pretty awesome. I remember hearing about that a long time ago, but had never actually watched it happen until now. Funny how the author referred to Aphex Twin as an "alternative rock band".

I was worried about that when I saw Sleigh Bells earlier this year, but they made it work. Played the whole debut album plus one other song (either new or a B-side, not sure) but they stretched a couple songs out a bit and it felt like they lived up to being at the top of the ticket. Of course, CSS was the support band and they're just fantastic. Warmed the crowd up and wore them out. Sleigh Bells had to come out and deliver the knockout punch, and they did.

Yeah, I saw Sleigh Bells this year too...same venue and everything and that was kinda what this reminded me of. Nice, solid set, but just short and to the point, no encore just play the album and that's it. Liked 'em both, but Sleigh Bells was a better show.

Nice, I figured you'd remember it. Why can't I find any reference to it anywhere?
