Always been one of my favorite REM pics. Something about the casualness of it and the rare, goofy smile on Stipe's face.

(REM) God yeah, that's awesome. And so very, very long ago.

I have a poster-sized copy of that Bjork photo hanging in my place. I always loved the playfulness of it.

That pic was taken in 1984 also. So "80's Stipe hair"?

I have curly hair and certainly went through a "bad period" with long hair.

Yeah, wasn't his head already shaved for the "Losing my Religion" video?

The photo was taken by Laura Levine, and this comes from the book, "Who Shot Rock & Roll":

The band lauded the barbeque beef at Walter's BBQ (made even more famous in REM's ode to the place, "Walter's Theme") in their hometown, Athens, GA. From left to right, vegan Michael Stipe eats only the coleslaw while carnivores Bill Berry, Peter Buck, and Mike Mills dig in. They are just about to release their album Reckoning....

I'm assuming you didn't click the link in the first post? It's for a gallery currently exhibiting Levine's work.

And she claims that the plate in front of Stipe is hers.

I didn't feel like starting my own thread, so I am bumping this one:
