So I'm making a mix because I do enjoy the band a bit. So far went through Chocolate & Ice EP and the Songs: Ohia split (as well as the Xmas EP). Found some good things but also some throwaway crap like a phone message and studio tomfoolery.

Looked at wikipedia only to find they've released just a handful of EPs and singles (as well as some early recording collections) BUT they've also been on a shit load of comps and tribute albums. Which one of you superfans has heard it all and can point to some of their best misc. tracks?

The cover of Dylan's "Goin To Acapulco" from the I'm Not There soundtrack is good.

But that's just Jim James and Calexico. You want original material?

Covers are fine. Jim James solo stuff is fine. Regular albums are ok, though I didn't really like the most recent one, already selected "I'm Amazed" from the one before that, and want to avoid the live stuff, Already have At Dawn. So I guess the best from Tenn. Fire, It Still Movies, Z, and then fill out with b-sides/comp tracks. you know, the usual random rules that I have for making mixes!

I think he was talking about the MMJ song, unrelated to the Paul McCartney song (or cover, if there is one).

I like the MMJ song, though IIRC I liked a few cuts on that album, maybe I'll revisit and see if there's a better choice for my mix.
