Immediately this shouldn't come as a surprise if you have been a fan of Weezer because Mikey has apparently always dappled in substances, but its a pity that it ended this way. Overdose suspected.

As a former Boston music scene guy, totally sad. I guess kinda expected based on what some folks are saying, but having known the dude, just...sad, ya know?

Completely. Even though my days of Weezer fandom are fairly behind me, I still keep sorta in touch with whats going on with the band, etc. Based on some reports I had read a year ago, it seemed like he was finally starting to get recognized as an artist.

Ah, bassist for Weezer. It always has been the excuse for why the fans, of various stages of the band's career, have given up on the band. Oh, but Matt Sharp is such a showman. Mikey, he harmonizes so well. That's it, fuck Rivers, he's a jerk and doesn't want to be upstaged. I'm thru with this band.

Creepy or a cry for help?

(Did he not consider his music in Weezer to be an art?)
