I'm curious. I have lots of things, personally.

Personally, I would thank him for his awesomeness.
And the basslines to ""Chemical Wire" and "Anxious Mofo"

I think he lent him $10 for cab fare back in '85 or something.

I think I'd firstly like to thank him for sticking around and recording The Secondman's Middle Stand, which is one hell of an endearing, honest, colourful, and engaging work. Probably his most fully realized solo release yet, and without a doubt the most conceptually successful and homogenous.

My German friend from college named Miki was MD at the local college station when I was a just-turned-18 work-study student. She introduced me to Minutemen and my perspective was never quite the same musically.

Watt is thanked because he's Watt.

This thread could end here. But it shouldn't.

I thank Watt for bringing it to Montreal 4 times in the last 2 years. Relentless in every way. I thank him for signing my boob. I mean book.

Most recently, I thank him for "Boilin' Blazes." I sing that in the shower pretty loudly.

With a raised, clenched fist, I would imagine/hope. I'm gonna make it thru this hurt ...

I don't think that thanking Watt for being Watt is quite enough...
I don't know how to put it into words...

I would thank him for bringing much to the bass community. Not only has he inspired numerous people to pick up the instro, like myself, but he is also readily happy to answer questions whether through his website or through the bass forums he mods. Come on name another indie god who does that? Seriously though, the man has been to hell and back (twice) and approachable and talented. Thanks Mike Watt.

Plus, his tour diaries are awesome. And he gets his bandmates to write, too.

I thank Watt for playing bass with J Masics so that I could see two legends on the same stage.
