comfortably broad tastes...nice list

The PJ Harvey keeps getting better for me (as opposed to last few of hers that seemed to lose steam quickly).

Man, it's just the length that kills me.

Yeah, I sorta like the little pieces I've heard but I don't think I could endure the whole thing.

I have listened to this album and their a few times and while I like the music, the vocals just destroy the experience.

Will I like this if I liked Dignity and Shame?

Not sure... this one is much more stripped down. But the songwriting on this one is top-notch in my opinion.

Haven't listened to the Black Keys one yet, but I'm looking forward to it now. Opeth is pretty OK but certainly not their best. EDIT: Missed Adele on the first read... nice one.

Man oh man. I finally caved an listened to this Fucked Up record due to the acclaim posted here. In summary, I don't like it. Not because it doesn't deserve merit; but because it's been done several times before and in better form, IMO.

If you like this Fucked Up record I would suggest listening to these relatively recent records that rape the melodic "catchiness" of the Fucked Up record WITHOUT the gurgling vocal garbage and shitloads of filler:

The Arrivals - Marvels of Industry (2007)
Image

or

The Arrivals - Molotov Volaile (2010)
Image

and if you want a 2x speed clone of this Fucked Up record from further away:

Leatherface - Mush (1991)
Image

I guarantee these records are better than that Fucked Up album. Approach the albums in the order listed. You won't be disappointed.
