I can't think of another year where I heard fewer new albums than I did this year--and at least half of those I did hear were freebie bandcamp something-or-others which were good, but I don't feel like talking about.

But being ever-loving of making lists, this is what 2011 was for me:

1. Harry Potter
I've loved the books for years now (though being later to the HP game than most people, my version of "years" is still not as long as most). And the last movie released over the summer, so I sat there in the movie theater--by myself--bawling during the first scene and bawling during the last scene--and feeling slightly ridiculous, but barely caring.

I am a sap.

2. Writing
I've enjoyed writing since I could write, but in the last half year I've written (creatively) more than I have in the past how-many-years combined. How fun!

3. Baseball
Goddamn it, Phillies.

4. Cooking
I totally made Rice-A-Roni all by myself.

Ok, it was a bit burned, but that just adds flavor.

Ok, OK--it was a lot burned. More flavor!

5. Foolishly Spending Money
But the iPad was so worth it.

6. The Criterion Collection
AKA, The Theory foolishly spends money.

7. Feeling Horrified For The First Time In Years
Reading the Sandusky report will do that to a person.

8. Seeing The Residents Live
For the 3rd time. Money well spent. The best I've seen them.
I wanna do it again.

9. Sonic Youth
Have I listened to any band more than Sonic Youth? No. Have I listened to anything except Sonic Youth? Barely. A quick guesstimate has me at 85% of the time listening to SY, the rest anyone else.
