Were Lush any good? I haven't heard a single song of theirs, but I love all the bands that they are compared to - Ride, MBV, Slowdive, Catherine Wheel et al. What should I check out?

I may be biased because I used to be in love with the lead singer, but yes they're good.

Like Cocteau Twins and Smashing Pumpkins at the same time.

"Sweetness And Light" is probably the signature tune to dl to check out. Yeah, or "Ladykillers"

I prefer Gala or Spooky over Lovelife but am a fan of all their music.

1. Spooky (Debut)
2. Gala (Collection of early singles)
3. Lovelife ("Ciao!" with J. Cocker)
4. Split

Also have a bunch of singles. Let me know if you want me to put anything up for you on slsk.

np: Suede – Dog Man Star

Most of the songs I like by Lush are on their best of called Ciao. I really liked "Olympia" though, from Lovelife, but it didn't end up on Ciao.

Lush disbanded after the drummer hanged himself in '96.
