I was thinking of going to Best Buy to see if they have the Shooter Jennings album, "Putting the O back in Cuntry," a friend of mine had an interesting time with him in ATL/Albany recently.

it's Waylon's boy, a fine mix of ass kickin country and rock and roll.

And, though its not new, I watched about 1/2 of Jesus' Son the other day and I might get the DVD, because it was good, and I want to see where it goes.

It's a pretty good movie. I got it used a few years ago after seeing half on it on HBO and being intrigued. Billy Crudup has a nice performance, as does Holly Hunter.

The great thing about Amoeba SF is that pretty much all new releases can be purchased used, if you wait a few weeks (and check regularly like I do). I really want the new boom bip, but am going to wait until those who didn't dig it sell it back. I think it's fun this way because I'm not able to plan my purchases, so it's always a surprise.

I don't know if I can wait for that new Josh Rouse, though :D

The Evens record is top notch - Ian from Fugazi & Amy from the Warmers. I was impressed when I saw them live, and the album follows suit...
I also want to get the new French Toast, which is Jerry from Fugazi with James Canty (Noation of Ulysses, Make-Up, first 2 Ted Leo albums) - I have the "bugman" ep, and it impresses...

That being said, after my MLB 2005/DC Cab/The Hard Way spree last Fri, and since I already have the Evens record (digitally, at least), I'm going to hold off on these until I trade in stuff at Amoeba soon... But I'd give them a hearty handshake if I could.

Todays purchase = lunch, either some cheese pizza or a gardenburger. I haven't decided yet....

I was planning on going out to get the Mando Diao, Stars, Ash, Mercury Rev, and maybe that Blue Merle record, but a freak winer storm looks to keep me inside today. Stupid snow in March...

Has anybody heard anything about the Blue Merle record? I was just wondering if it was worth the price.

Another Tuesday filled with DVD releases. Another Tuesday with no CHiP's or I'm With Busey.

Why do DVD's even exist?
