Tell me why I should / shouldn't go to this show.

I think I *sort of saw Vietnam when they opened from Death From Above 1979 but they were really not that interesting at all.


* = sort of, because I wasn't sure if it was them or another band that opened.

Vietnam is like if someone tried to wedge some sort of hendrixian(minus the originallity) 60s guitar solo into a droney 60s version of sonic youth and then it all turned out to be just one long, long drugged out fuzzy song. it's interesting for, like, a minute, until you realize that the guy cowering under a blanket in cowboy boots is ostensibly the singer, and even this you only realize because he smells like the other two. i'm not a fan. the comas, now, are a really good, living definitiion of the term "indie rock", so if you're in the mood for that or Dawson's creek jokes, then they're your date for the evening.

we played a show with the Comas a few months back...kinda boring. uninspired maybe?

I haven't heard the Comas, but may I just say bingo!

Well, that pretty much made my decision to not go.

this show was great, and Vietnam still sucks. the comas were that good.
