For instance, Leonard Cohen's latest has plenty of brilliant songs, great vocals, fabulous lyrics, everything you expect in a Cohen album, but much of the music is demo-quality, laptop/casio, unfleshed-out tinkle-dinkle. Why didn't he hire a damned drummer and keyboard player before putting it out? I really like the album, but it's offputting.


Another thing: Anime

Great storylines, plenty of action. But some of the dumbest slapstick this side of an Ernest movie and a reliance on gigantic eyes and stupid facial expressions that undercuts any attempt at a genuinely good cartoon.


Another thing: Alternative video shows. All the hosts suck except that Goth chick who does the late night metal show and Dave Kendall. Is it a law that says hosts have to be as lame as that hunchback hyena Mike O'Malley shit on Subterranean?

if mtv2 were smart (which they're most certainly not) they'd bring back abby gennet. she was the best (and dear god, the hottest) thing that ever happened to them.

Kendall's an ass. I mean a complete ass. Seeing him around New York in the early 90's has a harbinger for a really crappy decade.

Drinking with Pinfield would be a nightmare. He used to do the mid-day show after my morning drive slot. He knows his stuff, but the dude takes pompous to levels only previously dreamt of in mankinds wildest flights of fancy.
