Dont know if this has been brought up yet. Early favorite of mine for record of the year. Quite excellent.

Also bought Bright Eyes - "Listen..." and "Fevers and Mirrors". Havent taken them for a ride yet tho.

This one has been a serious grower for me. I was originally turned off by the second song, so it sat on the shelf for a few weeks. Picked it up last week and saw it in a new light.

np: animal collective - sung tongs

I picked this up at Amoeba in the used section for $6.99 about a month ago, but haven't really gotten into it yet. I've listened to it a few times, and it just hasn't grabbed me. It's been sitting on the shelf for a while now. I'll have to revisit it and see if my opinion has changed.

Hasn't grabbed me. And don't know if it ever will. It's not something I usually like.

Pretty damn good. Could make a year-end Top 20.

Its a very serious record. I like it too. I finally figured out who the vibe on this record reminds me of too. Midnight Oil.

It definitely is a grower. When I first heard it, there were only a couple of songs that really caught my attention, and I was fairly ambivalent about the rest. But as I've listened to it more, small details pop up and now I can't listen to it the same way as before.

I think it also helps to see some of these songs performed live, when I feel like the Frames really shine. No, there will never be another "Lay Me Down" or "Revelate" (although they did play both at the show I saw on Saturday), but they've grown beyond that.

I would definitely say it's their most mature record to date.

Spin by spin this is growing on me. I think hearing these songs live will help me judge them in a better light, but I see/hear potential in this record so I keep throwing it on despite not being very impressed at first.

It was a grower for me as well. It's definitely moodier than their previous stuff. I don't think it will be like 'For the Birds' for me in that I can listen to that album on repeat all day, but I really enjoy 'Burn the Maps'.
