just wondering if anyone has hood's "outside closer" and can give an opinion of it? it's been RIYL'd to a cross between rjd2, sigur ros & iron&wine.

i have it. i love it.

i don't know about those RIYL's though.

they're a tough one to compare to. closest i can think of is the notwist. but more british?

their last one, cold house, is very good too...and features guest vocals on a couple of tracks from the dudes in clouddead.

Not sure about the Iron/RJ/Sigur RIYL's either...

It's quite pastoral - not quite as pop-oriented as The Notwist, but they're in the same ballpark. Hood will veer towards more outright glitchpop and hip-hop oriented fields - one song on "Outside" even has a Prefuse-style cut-and-paste feel to it...

It's quite the beautiful album, though...

I bought the EP but haven't got the album yet. I'm in a holding pattern on album purchases.
